Aurora, IL - With mental health cases rising nationwide, Mayor Richard C. Irvin welcomed the ALIVE Center’s “Center for Teens” to their new location inside the New England Congregational Church. The award-winning non-profit’s trademarked “Teen-Led Teen-Driven” model offers community and mentorship to teens throughout the city, fostering the youth to become confident, impassioned, and resilient leaders.
Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL 11th District), Ward 9 Alderman Edward Bugg, and Ward 4 Alderman Bill Donnell joined Mayor Irvin for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting before touring the new location with Ady Sepulveda, ALIVE Aurora Manager, and Kandice Henning, ALIVE’s founder and CEO, which is set to officially open on June 3rd. ALIVE also has locations in
Naperville and Hanover Park, providing resources for teen’s physical and emotional well-being while inspiring personal growth.
As a key pillar of Mayor Irvin’s vision for Aurora, the ALIVE Center helps encourage a strong educational enviroment and youth development.
